Yom Shabbat, 27 Av 5777

Ner Tamid’s adult education focuses on teaching the basics of Judaism and creating open dialogue about the common issues facing Jews today. With a community primarily consisting of inter-faith marriages and a large number of people who were not raised in a synagogue, our program addresses different levels of knowledge, with the goal of helping build a strong understanding of the foundations of our faith. We offer a create a comfortable, non-intimidating environment in which to learn.  Most recently, Adult Education completed a six-part Jewish philosopher series (covering Martin Buber, Mordecai M. Kaplan, Abraham Joshua Heschel, as well as a host of other equally important philosophers).

We also have a very active book club which reads everything from soup to nuts, most recently Malkeh and Her Children, The Coffee Trader, and Rabbi Gabrielle's Scandal. Discussions are relaxed and informal, and you can always count on some good noshing too!
